Magenta (T-Mobile Austria) and cyan extend cooperation ahead of schedule while at the same time expand end customer base

  • Several years of cooperation with Magenta in Austria confirmed and expanded
  • Significant enlargement of potential end customer base
  • Growing sales and earnings contributions expected

Munich, July 5, 2019 / cyan and Magenta, the fully integrated service provider for telecommunications services, TV and entertainment resulting from the merger of T-Mobile Austria and UPC Austria, confirm the long-term cooperation in which cyan provides network-integrated and combined endpoint security solutions. The cooperation will now be extended ahead of schedule by further 1.5 years until mid of 2022. In addition, the potential customer base has grown by up to 50 % through the acquisition of UPC and the integration of fixed network customers into the customer spectrum of cyan.

T-Mobile Austria completed the acquisition of UPC in July 2018 and announced that both companies would operate under the Magenta brand in May 2019. The combination of the two companies will also lead to an expansion of the customer offering especially those for UPC’s fixed-network customers. In addition to cyan’s existing Mobile Security offerings, it is planned to provide bundled cyber-security products for mobile and fixed network contracts in the future.

Peter Arnoth, CEO of cyan AG: “We are very pleased that we can continue our successful cooperation with Magenta in the future. By bundling our know-how, both sides can benefit from the partnership and we create added value for the end customers. The fact that Magenta will expand its customer offerings in the future also creates new opportunities for us to place our products”.
